The excitement leading up to Bellator 185 + UFC Fight Night 118

This weekend the MMA world is in for a treat with Bellator 185 and UFC Fight Night 118. Below focuses on the two intriguing main events and the return of Heather "The Heat" Hardy. 

Bellator 185

Main Event - Gegard Mousasi vs. Alexander “Storm” Shlemenko

All eyes will be on Gegard Mousasi when he makes his Bellator debut against organization veteran Alexander “Storm” Shlemenko this Friday. What Gegard Mousasi has accomplished in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is remarkable. Since starting his MMA career back in 2003, he has won four world titles, competed for over ten organizations across the world, and gathered forty-two wins out of fifty fights. Mousasi is considered as one of the best middleweights in the world and is currently enjoying a five-fight winning streak. Mousasi will test his skills in his upcoming bout against an elite competitor who is not an easy contest for anyone. Shlemenko has competed in over sixty professional MMA fights in which he secured fifty-six wins. Like Mousasi, he is also enjoying a five-fight winning streak as well. Shlemenko doesn’t like to leave the bout in the hands of the judges, and like his previous match, he is looking to end the fight early by way of TKO or KO. 

The MMA Return of "The Heat"

Also on the main card of Bellator 185, boxer and MMA fighter, Heather “The Heat” Hardy who had one of the most memorable MMA debuts back at Bellator 180 at Madison Square Garden is scheduled to make her return. Hardy competed in boxing for five years between 2012 and 2017, won titles, and fought in two different weight classes. She became an instant fan favorite among MMA fans at Bellator 180 after stopping Alice Yauger in the third-round via TKO. At Bellator 185, Hardy is looking for another MMA win and to make a statement in their women’s flyweight division.

UFC Fight Night 118

Main Event - Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone vs. Darren Till

Crowd favorite Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone looks to end his two-fight losing streak when takes on current undefeated rising star Darren Till. Till is a confident striker who is not afraid to exchange strikes with his opponents and believes he can stop anyone in his division. Impressively, he gathered nine of his wins via KO/TKO and is currently on a 15-fight winning streak. Across the octagon from him will be Cerrone who is a well-rounded competitor that hardly lets a fight go to a decision. The MMA vet has a combined total of twenty-four victories by way of stoppage. Cerrone has already faced the best of the best and picked up wins over Matt Brown, Benson Henderson, Eddie Alvarez and Jim Miller among others. Cerrone will be Till's biggest challenge so far in his career, and it will be intriguing to see what other tools Till have in his repertoire.

Catching up with Abzû (video game)

Abzû is an underwater adventure video game which was originally released on August 2, 2016, for Windows and PlayStation 4. Abzû places the player in a colorful, gorgeous, stress-free underwater world ready to be explored.

Abzû does a phenomenal job capturing the wonders of the deep sea. You play as a Diver in this ocean simulation. As I started to guide the character through the game, I immediately began to appreciate the stunning visuals and effects. At times, I took a moment just the admire the sunshine coming through the waters above you. You are not alone in this sea adventure. I came across a school of colorful fishes, whales, and dolphins. It was a thrill to hold onto a whale while others swim by my side.

For the most part, exploring freely in Abzû was exciting. However, other than swimming, Abzû doesn't offer much. You'll swim through most of the entire the game, and will only walk on land for brief periods. Along the way, you'll be encountered by mines that will temporarily slow you down, but you can easily bypass them. There are a few simple puzzles you'll encounter as well.

Abzû was fun, short, and sweet. It provided a stress-free entertaining experience filled with underwater mysteries and discoveries which can last for about four hours. Each section of this adventure displays it's beautiful art direction and a marvelous sense of the scale of an enormous environment under the deep blue sea.
