Daniel Straus capitalized Wilcox after he charged in, attempting to throw a right punch. Straus stepped back away from Wilcox, and then threw a monstrous left punch that dropped Wilcox. He followed up with a series of punches ending the fight.
After his knockout win, Straus is now 9-2 in the Bellator cage. Prior to this fight, he had two great back and forth champion bouts against former Bellator Featherweight Champion, Pat Curran, who recently lost his title to Patrício Freire last month. Things are interesting now, after his win over Wilcox, will Daniel Straus get a rematch with Pat Curran, or will he get a chance to recapture the gold with going against Patrício Freire?
